About Rally Course Pro
The Problem We Solved
Until now, AKC Rally judges and instructors designing courses on a computer relied on downloaded desktop software or built their own solutions — spreadsheets, generic diagramming tools, hand-drawn layouts adapted for digital use. There was no web-based, user-friendly platform made specifically for designing AKC Rally courses. Rally Course Pro is the first.
Who Built It
Kathy Patterson is the lead developer of Rally Course Pro. As an active AKC Rally competitor, Rally instructor, and kennel club member, she built Rally Course Pro from firsthand experience — knowing exactly how courses are designed, evaluated, and handed off on trial day.
Brian Patterson is the founder of Rally Course Pro. He co-developed the platform and leads business operations.

Before Rally Course Pro launched publicly, more than half a dozen AKC Rally judges participated in a structured beta program. They used the tool to design real courses, stress-test the AKC validation logic across Novice through Master levels, and provide detailed feedback on the workflows that matter most to judges — from how nested courses share a ring layout to what belongs on a pull sheet. Their input shaped every major design decision in the platform.

Every feature in Rally Course Pro — drag-and-drop placement of official AKC Rally signs, class-level validation from Novice through Master, nested course support, and print-ready exports for course maps, sign lists, and equipment pull sheets — was designed and refined with input from active participants in the AKC Rally community. No downloads, no workarounds: just log in and design.
